Sales Pitch Strategy Chat

The big day is here (for Antonio at least) and it's time to make some money.
At the start of the thread we sit at 80 Advertising Points. In a perfect world we finish with as many AP as we can without triggering a take over which currently triggers at 100+. Of the four options to increase the price I think the first one is where we should devote most of our points as it has the easiest to manage downside. As long as we don't go overboard it should be pretty easy to raise the total price of the mechs by 400,000 or more. I think I am going to hold off on rolling for a while, I feel pretty confident that I can get 6-8 points so if we need to I can finesse things at the end to make sure we don't get screwed.
Anyone else got thought ideas or opinions?

Well, in character, James would be most interested increasing functionality or decreasing exclusivity. He actually wants the all the IS to have Omnimechs when the Clans invade.
Though he'll follow orders, so he'll do what is best for the group.

OOC worth noting that although we have 19AP wiggle room, each time the Onis win in the arena that gets reduced as they gain AP. I imagine the actual wiggle room we have is 0.
If it was all up to OOC me, and assuming you get something like 15 FP total (each character gets two rolls that can earn 2FP and more with a raise. Assuming about 4 characters pass and being conservative here), I'd be looking at:
5FP to lower AP by 10 (and lower price by 100k).
5FP for Scorched Earth Contingency to increase threshold by 5 (and lowering price by 50k)
5FP to increase exclusivity. Threshold lowered by 10, price increased by 250k.
Total result: effectively 5AP lost but price rises by 100K
I don't really mind about functionality or secrecy. The IS tends to do a terrible job when they copy mech designs and they will struggle with the omni aspect. We would probably just get another Marauder like mech. Equally, increasing the secrecy doesn't seem to have any tangible benefits for us as it doesn't stop an attack on the mech factory or increase price or demand. It might help maintain a high price for longer due to the lack of cheap knock offs, but eh, we are already making a huge amount of money selling it at 5.5+ million. The 6.5+ million quoted in the event for big benefits must be when we are rolling in money!!! XD
There could also be future events to lower/raise AP. Gotta be careful.
iC Fee would champion for MOAR. More money and tons of exclusivity. You can be sure she would get the planet invaded in a heartbeat by the Federated Commonwealth by pledging the Oni to the DC for the next twenty years. Probably don't involve her in any way. She'd also likely do a terrible deception roll, gaining infamy in the process, to suggest anyone piloting the Oni becomes 20% cooler. Yep, ignore her.

Maths!
Making a balance between the enthusiasm, scorched earth Contingency and Secrecy sounds like a good plan.
I can try to get 5FP the cooking I can do and I can go for commerce.

Running totals
AP Cap: 100
(We've gotten-4 and +4 so far which balance out nicely.)
Unit Price: +140,000 c-bills
(Mo' Money, Mo' Problems? Not yet.)
Copycat Chance: +4
(Who knows what this really means.)

I can probably get 4 or 5 FP. What should I put them toward?

Right now it is pretty safe to dump into Increase Enthusiasm if you wanna just do that though anything over 5 points you might wanna put into Scorched Earth just to be safe.
The D5 matches happen after the sales pitch thread so we don't really know how that will effect things. We need to leave some wiggle room so we don't go over our AP cap but we want to get as close to it as possible.

Remember there is a knockout phase after this round.

Will that gain/lose AP as well after the contracts are signed?

Yes. People can still decide they want to to alter the deal.
Pray they do not alter it any further.
