A lot changed on Illium for the Fortunate Ones. As far as first contracts for a newly created mercenary company go, it was a trial by fire. Higher risk than anyone expected, but also higher reward too. One particular early recruit for the company developed a lot there; Felicity, a young, short and often boisterous woman from the Free Worlds League. She went from cautious and quiet to confidently herself. Once trained in a mechwarrior Academy, Felicity - or Fee to friends - had become a veteran by the end of that contract. More than once she'd semi-crazily jumped into the middle of enemy formations and survived to tell about it. To her this was calculated risk, while to others it was brave or foolhardy. Only a certain degree of luck kept her alive. That luck didn't save her beloved inherited mech, Kiara, from surviving a direct aerospace plane crash, but it did let her hit the eject button in time. It was perhaps also responsible for her finding a new mech to fall for, which was amusingly another relic of the Star League era: a Griffin 2N. She managed to persuade the company to let her have the royal mech as a bonus for her contribution to the contract, and as a replacement for her lost Phoenix. Even more excitingly, she badgered and pleaded for the mechtech staff to customise it for her while it was undergoing repairs. This has turned it into an even more formidable machine tailored to her preferences. In all fairness the mech had done well for itself, having survived a close encounter with a mysterious group of elite enemies. To Fee it had earned the designation Huntress.
As for Felicity herself, well, she still likes to wear hoodies and to stay warm. However, she doesn't hide her tail or cat-ears anymore like she used to. If anything she displays them proudly, preferring to wear very little under a coat or her hoodie in case of a combat alert or so she can spend time in the sims. As most mechwarriors dress lightly, due to the heat of mech cockpits, this isn't unusual. The cat parts absolutely are though. These might normally only ever be seen among a small group of performers, entertainers and such within Canopian pleasure circuses. No surprise then that Felicity spent time working within on. Her exact past is still somewhat enigmatic to most, as she avoids talking about it, but there is gossip she has quite the long surname. Considering the past inherited mech, her ability with a violin and Academy training, it's rumoured that she's a rebellious noble out for excitement and glory. This isn't quite the truth yet it's close enough, especially with her behaviour of late.
When Solaris was brought up as a possible destination Felicity was all for it. The excitement of the arena and the chance to get noticed and let rip appealed to her. Plus, she wanted to see one of the most famous places in the sphere! This sudden enthusiasm for a command decision was notable for Fee. In the past she'd not exactly been in agreement with some of Major Creed's decisions, especially those directly involving herself. She'd been helpful during downtime, worked on keeping up morale, fought hard and tried to be generally useful, but she was left feeling overlooked. While she gave her insight to new joiners, helping to train them, she was keen to achieve more. Solaris might just offer that opportunity, or so she hoped. Piloting an Oni didn't fit with her combat style however. Besides that, she had a wonderful new machine to use. Wouldn't her success also promote the company? No doubt this was also something she and Creed had different viewpoints on. Now, if some of her peers can keep her gullibility in check maybe she will make her point?
