The rain continues to threaten, but doesn't materialize until early night, when the sky splits in roaring sheets of rain and thunder, pouring down in a veritable maelstrom of rain and wind. Not quite so bad as to cause significant damage, but blinding and wild enough that any trip outside soaks to the bone almost immediately.

Kamaitachi: It's weird - last night nobody could rest - I was wandering all over town trying to figure out what was making me itch.

Though they are tightlipped about the announcement, rumors abound -- some inclined to believe it is a prelude to further aggression, while others believe it will be a diplomatic overture, and others still believe it will be largely meaningless - a PR move looking to stoke patriotic feeling in the combined nation.
